How Much Does Cosmetic Dentistry Cost?

It’s time to discuss the BIGGEST REASON many adults don’t consider cosmetic dental procedures: money.

Dentists are a lot like you. We have families, budgets, regular expenses, and we know that all expenses need to be considered carefully.

First things first: quality cosmetic dental treatment isn’t “cheap”.

BUT, with the advice in this chapter, you will learn how to comfortably fit natural cosmetic dentistry into your budget.

What Is a Reasonable Cost for Cosmetic Dentistry?

The cost of cosmetic dentistry treatment varies greatly. It can range anywhere from $200 to $10,000, with the final price depending on the treatment required. For most of our patients, however, it falls somewhere in the middle.  (If you’d like to learn the exact cost of your treatment, click here to get a FREE virtual smile consultation from home!)

Most of our patients won’t be locked into one price or payment plan. You can expect to choose from multiple treatments and payment options for each treatment type. Dentists, now more than ever, are putting these options in place to help you make cosmetic dental treatment affordable.

Natural Cosmetic Dentistry Is More Affordable Than You Think

Most patients who expect cosmetic dental procedures to stretch their monthly expenses to the limit will be pleasantly surprised by this section.

With the interest-free payment options through Care Credit now available for cosmetic dentistry in our office, for example, your monthly payment could be as low as $97 per month.

While no one likes to add another monthly expense to their budget, here are a few things you most likely spend money on each month.

  • Streaming entertainment such as Netflix, Spotify, or Pandora
  • Tickets to the latest movies or a sports game (plus the hot dog and drink)
  • Regular trips to the hairdresser, spa, or nail salon
  • Coffee or Soda runs

What is similar about all these expenses? They cost as much or more than Natural Cosmetic Dentistry would –  and they’re all much less important to your overall health.

By eliminating or cutting back on even one of the expenses listed above, you would likely free up the funds necessary for cosmetic dentistry.

We bet you could look at your next credit card statement, eliminate a few frivolous automatic monthly charges, and free up the money required for cosmetic dentistry–without hardly noticing a change in your lifestyle.

The truth is, most adults will spend more on Starbucks or Sodalicious runs this month than would be required to pay for natural cosmetic dentistry.

By eliminating some unnecessary expenses and a little bit of caffeine (for just a little while) you can invest in your self-confidence and your quality of life!

Health Spending Accounts (HSA) / Flex Spending Accounts (FSA)

If you have a Health Savings Account with money accumulated, you can absolutely apply this money towards your cosmetic dentistry treatment. If you don’t have an HSA or are unsure of how to start one, you can find information online at www.healthcare.gov.

hsa or fsa accounts

Some employers allow employees to set aside pre-tax dollars in a Flex Spending Account. These funds can be used to pay for medical procedures such as cosmetic dental procedures.

In many workplaces, employers will even match FSA contributions!

Check with your employer to find out if an FSA is available through your workplace.

Financing Options

Some of our patients choose to take advantage of Care Credit to cover the cost of their Natural Cosmetic dental work.

Now that we have addressed the cost of natural cosmetic dentistry, let’s discuss how to get started with cosmetic dentistry.

HINT: It starts with a free consultation (we’ll show you how to get one).

Insurance

When it comes to insurance, it can be difficult to even start the conversation. After all, there are so many different types out there and everyone’s situation is a little bit different.

In general, dental insurance policies cover needed cosmetic dentistry but have very little to no coverage for elective procedures (which insurance considers not essential for health).   We can help you know whether this may be a covered expense for you or not.

Most of our Natural Cosmetic Dental patients don’t have insurance that covers their care yet we find that most actually *save money* by using Care Credit and other financing options rather than paying additional insurance premiums for “more complete” insurance coverage.

The bottom line is, that we always find ways to make natural cosmetic dental treatment affordable with or without insurance.

If you have insurance that covers any cosmetic services, our team will personally look at your insurance plan and discuss all your options at your first consultation.
