Kids’ Dentist at Total Care Dental & Wellness
Dr. Karissa Thometz spent most of her childhood in Bothell, Washington, alongside her parents and two brothers. It was during a brief time living in North Carolina, around the age of eight, that she first discovered her passion for dentistry.
She would spend hours in the backyard crafting teeth molds and dental instruments out of wet clay, imagining herself as a dentist.
She later attended Roseman University’s College of Dental Medicine in Utah, where she met her husband. Together, they have two young boys. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Thometz enjoys baking, trying new foods, hosting parties, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Dr. Thometz’s passion for pediatric dentistry with a focus on airway health and growth development was deeply personal. Her oldest son was born with a cleft palate, and knowing the extensive dental care he would need sparked her commitment to a whole-body approach to oral health.
While she had always been interested in systemic dentistry, becoming a mother deepened her dedication to addressing the root causes of health issues—not just treating the teeth.
She has worked with children throughout her entire dental career and now feels grateful to be at Total Care Dental & Wellness, where she can combine her love for pediatric care with a holistic approach to wellness.
