I love a simple green smoothie in the morning! It starts my day off well, and I feel great!
But I have heard many people tell me their struggles with green smoothies. Sometimes they don’t have a nice consistency, or sometimes they just taste gross.
I also struggled with this for a time, and a couple of my kids dreaded their daily green smoothies.
They would go to any length to avoid having to drink it. My daughter would cry and complain and always ask to put it in the fridge to drink it later. (Obviously that wouldn’t happen) So usually the next morning we dumped hers out and refilled it with the new smoothie of the day.
One of my sons also got pretty creative. He would sometimes sneak to other rooms looking for any place to dump out the smoothie without me noticing.
This sounds kind of funny, but it was also pretty frustrating! I was spending serious money on those smoothie ingredients to help my children get the nutrients they needed.
So I started coming up with smoothies that my family would love. I used less greens and more fruit and looked for good flavor combinations.
This was also at a time when I was extremely busy and the dental office was growing exponentially.
This led me to make simple green smoothies that taste great!
I don’t make smoothies every morning anymore, but when I do, my children actually drink the simple green smoothies in the morning! Some love them and others still complain a little bit, but at least they drink them.
Some of you may be expert green smoothie makers, some may have never tried a green smoothie, or some may have sworn them off forever thinking you could never make them turn out good.
Well this simple green smoothie recipe is for all of you!
And if you like it, then start coming up with your own simple combinations! There are endless options!
Cheers!
