Dr. Jorgensen loves changing lives. She knows everyone says that, but it’s really true! Dentistry is not only her profession, but her hobby and her passion. The challenge of helping someone get what they really want for their lifelong smile is what she lives for every day at Total Care Dental. Her enthusiasm is catching, and she is often asked to teach others what she knows. Dentistry done the right way, the first time. This is what she brings to her patients and others in the profession.
Dr. Jorgensen did her undergraduate training at Brigham Young University, and received her Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) in 1997 from Creighton University. Wanting to return to her home state of Utah, she practiced in Lehi for four years before starting Total Care Dental with her father in 2001.
This new dental practice was the chance they both wanted to do things differently. Tired of having time to treat only her patient’s basic needs, she started building a new method of care. Rather than just focus on the needs of a patient – pain, cavities, failing teeth – she looked for ways to help people replace teeth they had lost, keep their teeth forever, prevent infection and help patients feel better about their smiles.
This took her to many advanced dental training courses where she learned from the masters in her field. Through her continuing education pursuits, Dr. Jorgensen has earned her fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and is working toward her Mastership. She is active in helping with humanitarian care, and has worked in the Dominican Republic and locally at the Food and Care Coalition. She has taught many of her peers and continues to actively teach.
Dr. Jorgensen has been married to Steve since 1992 and has four children- 3 boys and a little girl. She is a busy mom running kids around. She loves to teach her children and takes her kids on adventures. She loves to cook, and has recently gone a little crazy with healthy eating. She has a large vegetable garden, and likes working outside. Her favorite activities all revolve around being outside and with her family!
