Dr. Coles loves dentistry! He is constantly reading and studying and attending courses so he can offer the very best and latest to his patients. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1974. He then received his Doctor of Dental Science [DDS] degree from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1978. For the next 23 years he had a busy private practice in central Utah, performing all types of dentistry, including orthodontics and oral surgery
In 2001 he was ready to make a change. He and Dr. Jorgensen dreamed of a practice where he could use all of his advanced training, and they jointly opened Total Care Dental. It is a joy to work with his daughter, and they make a great team.
He studied with many of the top leaders in implant dentistry learning many advanced techniques, and he is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He continues to attend annual meetings and keep current of advances in implant dentistry. He also attends the USC perio- implant symposium each year to learn from world renowned experts in implant dentistry, and has received training from the White Cap institute in dental implants.
Always looking for ways to help make dental visits more comfortable for patients, Dr. Coles took advanced training from Dr. Stanley Malamed at the University of Southern California in IV sedation. This training certifies him to be able to administer medications to patients so they can receive dental treatment in a more comfortable, sedated state. This has been a huge benefit for the fearful dental patient. Dr. Coles is a member of the American Society of Dental Anesthesia [ASDA] and attends their annual meetings.
Dr. Coles has been married to Sue Coles since 1972. They have one daughter[Michelle] with whom he practices, and four sons[Barry, Dustin, Nicholas, Tyler]. Barry is a vice president of an electronics company in California, Dustin and Tyler are orthodontists in Arizona, and Nicholas is an oral surgeon in Arizona.
